City of Lubbock Names Whitley Green as Chief Building Official
The City of Lubbock is thrilled to announce Whitley Green as its Chief Building Official. Green has been with the City’s Building Safety Department for the past seven years. She previously served as Senior Plans Examiner and Assistant Building Official to the department. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas, in addition to seven International Code Council certifications.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Chief Building Official for the City of Lubbock,” said Green. “I believe a successful department starts with a strong team, clear expectations, and a genuine commitment to serving others. I look forward to building meaningful relationships, working together to find practical solutions, and ensuring our community continues to grow safely and responsibly.”
Green will start her new position on Monday, October 19.
